Gamma's strengths
Where Gamma is better
Gamma is the leader in AI presentations, and for a lot of work it's the better tool.
- One prompt, a finished deck. Gamma's one-shot generation is strong and its designs are polished. For a deck you make once and send, that's what matters most. Cue writes decks from a brief too, but it's built for the deck you keep.
- More than slides. A gamma is made of cards that work as a presentation, a website and a social post at once. Cue only makes decks.
- Free-form editing. You can edit a gamma freely. Cue has no free-form canvas, by design: you ask for a change, or edit the text and the slide order.
- Analytics on what you send. Gamma's analytics on shared gammas, from its Pro plan, go further than Cue's views, unique viewers and time per slide.
- An MCP server on every plan. Gamma's hosted MCP server lets an AI assistant create gammas on any Gamma plan. Cue's MCP server is part of its Team plan.
- Scale. Gamma reported $100 million in annual recurring revenue and 70 million users in November 2025, and it's profitable. A lot of people already know how to use it.
Cue's focus
Where Cue is different
Gamma is built for making a deck. Cue is built for what happens after: presenting the same review every cycle, with new numbers, to people on their own screens.
-
The next cycle in one click
Start next review copies last cycle's deck, reads every bound number again from its source and writes a What changed slide that puts each number next to last cycle's. Story checks flag any slide whose words the new numbers no longer support. Gamma doesn't have this built in.
-
Numbers from the source, kept as snapshots
Bind a number, chart or table to Stripe, Amplitude, PostHog, HubSpot, Jira, a Google Sheet, a CSV, a JSON URL or any MCP server. Sources refresh every hour or every day, and publishing keeps a snapshot, so last month's review still shows last month's numbers. Gamma uses embeds.
-
Present from your phone
Scan the QR code on Cue's start screen and your phone becomes the remote: next and back, speaker notes, a timer against your time budget and a preview of what's next. Gamma has no phone remote.
-
A follow link instead of a screen share
People on the call open the follow link, and the real slides move with yours on their own screens, builds included, at full resolution. They need no account and no app.
-
Each follower picks a language
Followers choose one of 30 languages and read the same slide, translated, in step with you. Numbers come in their format, and Arabic and Hebrew read right to left.
-
Polls, Q&A and reactions
Open a poll from your remote and the results fill in on the big screen as people vote. Followers ask and upvote questions, and you or a moderator let them through.
-
Your AI can edit, not only create
Add Cue's MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, and your agent can create decks, edit slides, bind data and start the next review, acting as you with your role. Gamma's MCP server creates gammas but can't edit them.
-
A brand kit the renderer enforces
Cue reads your website's colors, fonts and logo into a kit. Every slide takes its colors and fonts from the kit, and every color pairing has to pass a contrast check, so a deck can't drift off brand. Gamma's own guide calls its brand compliance “inconsistent by default”.
Together
Using both
Gamma exports PowerPoint files, and Cue imports them. Import a .pptx from Gamma, up to 20 MB and 60 slides, and Cue redraws every slide in your brand kit as slides you can edit, bind to live data and present. It tells you what didn't carry over, like animations and video.
Going the other way, any Cue deck downloads as an editable PowerPoint file, with real text, tables and charts, or as a PDF.
A sensible split: keep making one-off decks, sites and posts in Gamma, and move the review you present every cycle to Cue.
The short answer
Which should you pick?
Pick Gamma if you make many different decks, sites or posts, each once, and want the most polished result from a prompt.
Pick Cue if you present the same review every week, month or quarter, your numbers live in tools like Stripe, Amplitude or a Google Sheet, and the people you present to join from their own screens or read another language.
Cue is free during early access. Later, Team will be €15 per seat per month, and viewers and commenters are free. See pricing.
Can I bring my Gamma decks to Cue?
Yes. Export the deck from Gamma as a PowerPoint file and import the .pptx into Cue. Cue redraws every slide in your brand kit, so the deck takes your kit's colors and fonts, and it lists what didn't carry over, like animations and video.
Both have an MCP server. What's the difference?
Gamma's MCP server creates gammas but can't edit them, according to Gamma's documentation. Cue's lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client create and edit decks, bind data and start the next review, acting as you with your role. Every change it makes is a version you can restore.
Can Cue make a website or a social post?
No. Cue makes decks to present live, share as a link, or download as a PowerPoint file or a PDF. If you need a site or a post from the same content, Gamma does that.
What does Cue cost?
Cue is free during early access, with every feature included. Later, a Free plan holds up to 3 decks, and Team will be €15 per seat per month. Seats are for people who edit: viewers and commenters are free. See pricing.
