Use Cue from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor
Cue has an MCP server, so the AI app you already use can run your decks: “Start next week's business review and tell me what moved.” It reads every number again from its source, writes the What changed slide and flags slides whose story no longer holds. It acts as you, with your role, and every change is a version you can restore.
Cue's MCP server
https://cuedecks.app/mcp
Streamable HTTP. You sign in with your Cue account (OAuth 2.1).
What your AI app can do with Cue
- Run your recurring reviews. Start the next cycle of a weekly business review, sprint review or board update: a new deck with every bound number read again, a What changed slide, and flags on slides whose words no longer match the numbers.
- Write and edit decks. Create a deck, add, change, move and remove slides, rename it, restore an earlier version. Your AI app writes the slides itself, or hands Cue a brief.
- Put real numbers on slides. Add a data source (a JSON URL, a published Google Sheet, a CSV, or one of the apps you connected to Cue, like Stripe, HubSpot or Jira) and bind a chart, number or table to it.
- Present live. Start a live session with a remote for your phone and a follow link for the room, open polls and read the audience's questions.
- Keep decks in folders. Make a folder for an account, a review or the board, move decks into it, and make new decks there: they start with its brand kit, company and audience, and Cue reads the folder's focus and uses only the sources and apps it allows.
- Keep the brand. Read and adjust brand kits, import one from a company's website, and pick the kit a deck is drawn in.
- Move files in and out. Turn a PowerPoint file into a Cue deck, and get a deck back as PowerPoint or PDF.
Before you start
- A Cue account. Sign up with Google or your email; your first sign-in gets a workspace with sample decks.
- Connecting AI apps is part of the Team plan. During early access every workspace has it, free.
- Your AI app acts with your role in the workspace: viewers and commenters can read decks but not change them, editors can change decks, and owners and admins can also change brand kits.
Set up in Claude
Works in claude.ai, the Claude desktop and mobile apps, and Claude Code.
Free, Pro and Max plans
- Go to Customize > Connectors and click Add custom connector.
- Name it Cue and enter
https://cuedecks.app/mcpas the server URL. Leave the OAuth fields empty: Cue works with Claude's published identity and with automatic registration. - Click Add, then Connect. Sign in to Cue, pick the workspace, and click Allow.
Team and Enterprise plans
- An Owner goes to Organization settings > Connectors, clicks Add, then Custom (type Web if asked), enters
https://cuedecks.app/mcpand clicks Add. - Each member goes to Customize > Connectors, finds Cue and clicks Connect to sign in with their own Cue account.
In a chat, turn Cue on or off from the + button under Connectors. Claude asks before it runs a tool that changes something (marked “Changes” below), unless you've allowed it.
Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http cue https://cuedecks.app/mcp, then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose Cue to sign in.
Set up in ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT Plugins, select the + button, then Add custom MCP server. Your plan or your workspace's admin decides whether you can add one.
- Name it Cue, choose Public endpoint and enter
https://cuedecks.app/mcp. - Choose OAuth for authentication, review the warning and select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
- Install it and sign in to Cue when ChatGPT asks: pick the workspace and click Allow.
- In a new conversation, type @ and pick Cue.
Set up in Cursor
Add Cue to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project), or open Cursor Settings, find the MCP section and add a new MCP server:
{
"mcpServers": {
"cue": { "url": "https://cuedecks.app/mcp" }
}
}
Cursor shows that Cue needs a login: click it, sign in to Cue in the browser and click Allow. Use a recent Cursor: older versions register a cursor:// callback that Cue's sign-in doesn't accept.
Any other MCP client
Point it at https://cuedecks.app/mcp (Streamable HTTP). An unauthenticated request gets a 401 whose WWW-Authenticate header points at the protected-resource metadata (RFC 9728); the authorization server's metadata is at https://cuedecks.app/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server (RFC 8414). Clients register with Dynamic Client Registration or a Client ID Metadata Document and use PKCE (S256). The scope is decks. Redirect URIs must be HTTPS, or HTTP on a loopback address (any port).
Example prompts
- “Start next week's business review and tell me what moved.”
- “Which slides in this week's review say something the numbers no longer back up? Fix the titles.”
- “Make a sprint review for Sprint 14 from these notes: …”
- “Bind the revenue chart on slide 4 to our Stripe MRR.”
- “Add a slide after the metrics with the three risks from this thread.”
- “Import this PowerPoint into Cue in our brand, then give me a PDF of it.”
- “Start presenting the board update and open a poll: which risk should we dig into?”
- “Undo your last change to the Q3 board update.”
Tools
Cue's server offers these 57 tools. This list is built from the server's own tool definitions. Reads changes nothing. Adds only creates something new. Changes can rewrite, reorder, remove or publish what's there, or show something to a live audience, so Claude and ChatGPT ask you first. Every change to a deck is still a new version you can restore. The role is the least one in the workspace that can use the tool.

Every link Cue's tools return is on https://cuedecks.app:
/d/…: a deck in Cue, and/p/…: presenting it./f/…: a live session's follow link, for anyone in the room./r/…: its remote, which controls the deck and is for the presenter only./brands/…: a brand kit in Cue's settings./api/export/…: a PowerPoint or PDF download that works for 15 minutes.
Cue doesn't send your AI app to other websites. The only other addresses in its answers are the data-source URLs you gave it.
Security and privacy
- You sign in, Cue checks every call. Connecting uses OAuth: you sign in to Cue, see which workspace the app gets and approve it. Each tool call acts as you, and Cue checks your membership and role on every call, so a role change or removal applies at once. Access tokens last an hour; refresh tokens rotate and end after 30 days without use.
- Every change is a version. Deck changes are saved as new versions, credited to you “via” the app, with a short note of what you asked for. History is never rewritten; restoring is a new version too.
- Connected apps only read. When Cue reads from Stripe, HubSpot, Jira, Google Sheets or other apps you connected to Cue, it only calls their read-only tools, and their tokens stay encrypted in Cue. Your AI app never gets them.
- Only what the tools need. Cue sees what your AI app sends in a tool call, never your conversation.
- You can disconnect any time, in the app or in Cue under Settings > Integrations, where admins also see and disconnect every app connected to the workspace.
What Cue stores and for how long is in the privacy notice. Cue's own writer (drafting from a brief, the demo writer, importing a brand or a PowerPoint file, describing a brand's pictures) counts against the workspace's monthly AI actions, and a picture Cue makes with generate_image counts as three; edits your AI app writes itself don't.
If something doesn't work
- “You can read decks but not change them”: you're a viewer or commenter in that workspace. Ask an owner or admin for editor access.
- “You're no longer a member”: you were removed from the workspace. Disconnect Cue in your app and connect again to pick another workspace.
- The app keeps asking you to sign in: remove Cue from the app and add it again.
