Template · every week

A weekly business review that rebuilds itself

Eight slides for the Monday numbers meeting: where you are, what changed, what's at risk and the decision you need. Bind the numbers once, and every week after starts with one click instead of a morning of copy-paste.

Free during early access. Sign up with your email, and the template opens in your workspace in your own brand.

The first slide of the weekly business review template, in a made-up brand: Weekly business review, Week 43, and a blank for this week's one-line headline.

The template as Cue draws it, in a made-up brand kit. Blanks in brackets are yours to fill, by hand or from a brief.

When to use it

For the meeting where the numbers get read out loud

A weekly business review is the half hour where a product or operations team looks at the same few numbers every week, says what moved and why, and decides what to do about it. The deck should take minutes to prepare. In many teams it takes a morning, because last week's deck gets copied and every number is pasted in again by hand.

This template keeps to what the meeting needs: one headline, four numbers, a trend, what changed, goals and their status, risks and asks, what ships next and the decision. Each slide has a presenter note that says how to use it, and the whole deck takes about ten minutes to present.

Run a sprint review or a board update instead? There are templates for those too.

How it works in Cue

Set it up once. Every Monday after is one click.

  1. Start this week's deck

Pick the template and name the week. Paste a few notes as a brief if you like, and Cue's AI fills in the blanks. The deck is drawn in your brand kit, which Cue can read from your website.

  2. Bind the numbers

Connect the four key numbers and the trend to where they live: MRR and churn from Stripe, active users and activation from Amplitude or PostHog, deals won from HubSpot, or a Google Sheet, CSV or JSON URL.

  3. Present it

Run the meeting from your phone. People on the call open a follow link instead of watching a screen share, each in their own language, and can answer polls and ask questions.

  4. Next week, one click

Start next review copies the deck, reads every bound number again, writes a What changed slide from the difference and flags any slide whose story the new numbers no longer support.

Last week's deck keeps last week's numbers: every cycle is kept in a series with its date, presenter and key numbers, and you can share any of them as a link or a PDF.

What's in the deck

Every slide, and how to present it

8 slides, about 11 minutes when you present it.

  1. Opening · 30 sec

One-line headline: what this week was about

    Company · date · presenter

Presenter note: Say the headline out loud first, then the one thing you need from the room today.

  2. Key numbers · 1.5 min

The story the numbers tell, as a claim

Monthly recurring revenue · Activation, new accounts · Weekly active teams · Logo churn, trailing 4 weeks

Presenter note: Bind these four to your sources: Data → Add source → Review metrics has MRR from Stripe, weekly active users and activation from Amplitude or PostHog, and deals won from HubSpot; then ask Cue to bind slide 2 to them. Call out the one that moved most.

  3. Bar chart · 1 min

    Revenue, last 8 weeks

    8 bars, W36 to W43

Presenter note: These bars are sample values: bind them to the last 8 rows of your revenue sheet. Point at the latest bar and say why it moved.

  4. Points · one click each · 2 min

    What changed

    Win · Miss · Learning

Presenter note: One click per item. Keep each to one sentence; details go in the follow-up doc.

  5. Table · 2 min

    Goals and status

    Columns: Goal, Owner, Status, Trend

Presenter note: Only discuss the rows that aren't on track. Owners speak to their own row in one sentence.

  6. Points · one click each · 1.5 min

    Where we need help

    Risk · Ask

Presenter note: Name a person and a date for every ask, or it isn't an ask.

  7. Timeline · 1 min

    What ships next

Mon · Wed · Next week

  8. Closing · 1 min

    The decision we need today

Option A or B, the trade-off, and our recommendation

Presenter note: End on the decision. If there's nothing to decide, say so and give the time back.

Questions

About this template

More in all questions.

Is the template free?

Yes. Every feature in Cue is free during early access, templates included. Later, the Free plan holds up to 3 decks; Team has unlimited decks, live data and Start next review.

Can I change the slides?

Yes. Ask Cue for a change in plain words ("split the goals into two slides", "add a slide on hiring"), or edit the text and the slide order yourself. There's no free-form canvas: the layouts follow your brand kit, so the deck stays on brand however it's edited.

My numbers are in a spreadsheet. Does that work?

Yes. Bind slides to a Google Sheet (Cue sees only the files you pick), a CSV file or a JSON URL. Sources can refresh every hour or every day, and you can get an email when a number moves past a threshold you set.

Can I get it out as PowerPoint?

Yes. Any deck downloads as an editable PowerPoint file, with real tables and charts, or as a PDF. You can also import your current weekly review from PowerPoint or Google Slides and keep running it in Cue.
