Questions

Cue, answered

What Cue does, where your numbers come from, how presenting works, how it uses AI, what it costs and what happens to your data. Something else? Write to us.

The basics

What is Cue?

Cue is live presentation software for teams that run recurring reviews: weekly business reviews, sprint reviews and board updates. Its numbers come from their sources instead of being pasted in, and "Start next review" turns last cycle's deck into this cycle's in one click, with every number read again, a What changed slide and a flag wherever the story no longer holds. You present it from your phone while everyone follows the slides on their own screen, in their own language. Cue is made by Pink Panther Labs in Berlin.

Who is Cue for?

Product and operations leads, and founders, who present the same review every week, sprint or quarter with numbers that change each time. See product teams, operations and founders.

How is Cue different from Google Slides, PowerPoint, Pitch or Gamma?

Those are built for making a deck. Cue is built for the deck you present every cycle: it reads the numbers from their sources, makes the next cycle in one click, and runs the meeting with a phone remote and follow links instead of a screen share. They do more where Cue does less: free-form canvas editing, real-time co-editing and, for the suites, being already installed. The comparison is dated and lists its sources.

How do I start?

Sign in with Google or with a link Cue emails you. You get a workspace with a sample deck. Import your brand from your website, then start from a review template, import a PowerPoint or Google Slides deck, or paste a brief and Cue writes one.

Reviews and data

What does "Start next review" do?

It makes the next cycle of a review from the latest one: a copy with the new label ("Week 44"), every bound number read again from its source, a What changed slide comparing the new numbers with the last cycle's, and a flag on each slide whose words no longer match its numbers, like a title that says churn is under 1.5% when it's now 1.8%. Each step is its own version, so you can see and undo what changed.

Where can Cue read numbers from?

Stripe, HubSpot, Amplitude, PostHog, Mixpanel and ChartMogul for business metrics; Jira, Confluence, Linear, Notion and GitHub for work; Google Sheets and Drive files you pick, CSV files and JSON URLs; and any MCP server. Each person connects their own account, and Cue only ever calls tools that read.

How do the numbers stay current?

Sources refresh every hour or every day, and only changed numbers make a new version of a deck. You can get an email when a number moves past a threshold you set. Publishing keeps a snapshot, so a past cycle keeps the numbers it was presented with, and during a meeting you can switch the room from the snapshot to live values.

Can Cue's AI change my numbers?

No. The numbers in What changed come from Cue's own comparison of the two cycles, not from a model. The AI only writes words around them, and words naming a number Cue didn't give are dropped.

Presenting

How do I present from my phone?

Scan the QR code on Cue's start screen and your phone becomes the remote: next and back, speaker notes, a timer against your time budget, a preview of what's next and blackout. Or stay on the laptop with a presenter view in a second window, a clicker or the keyboard.

What is a follow link?

A link you send to the people on the call. Their screen moves with yours, builds included, at full resolution, so nobody needs a screen share. They don't need an account or an app.

Can people follow in their own language?

Yes. In the follow link each person picks one of 30 languages and reads the same slide, translated, in step with you, with numbers in their format and Arabic and Hebrew right to left. A new language for a deck is one AI action; Cue keeps the translation, so later edits only translate what's new.

Does Cue have polls and Q&A?

Yes, in the follow link. Open a poll from your remote or reach a poll slide, and the results fill in on the big screen. Followers ask and upvote questions, which you or a moderator let through. Reactions float up on the big screen as they happen.

What is the "Presented with Cue" mark?

A small mark on follow and share links, with a link to Cue. On the Free plan it always shows; Team can hide it.

AI and agents

How does Cue use AI?

Cue's AI writes a deck from a brief, edits slides when you ask, fills in a template, drafts a brand kit from your website, writes demo slides and the words around the next review's numbers, imports PowerPoint decks and translates decks for followers. It runs on OpenAI's API with storage turned off; under OpenAI's API terms, that data isn't used to train their models.

Can I use Cue from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

Yes. Add https://cuedecks.app/mcp as a connector and sign in to Cue. Your AI can then create and edit decks, bind data and start the next review, acting as you with your role. Every change it makes is a version you can restore, and you can disconnect it in Settings.

What's an AI action?

Each time Cue's own AI writes for you: a deck from a brief, an edit you ask for, a brand kit from your website, a demo, the copy for the next review, an imported deck, a deck translated into a new language for followers, or a batch of your brand's pictures described. A picture Cue makes in your brand's style counts as three. During early access a workspace gets 1,000 a month. Edits a connected app like Claude makes itself don't count.

Brand, import and export

How does Cue keep decks on brand?

Cue reads your website's colors, fonts and logo into a brand kit. Slides take every color and font from the kit, and every color pairing has to pass a contrast check, so a deck can't drift off brand or become hard to read. A workspace keeps a library of kits, and each deck picks its own. A deck for one customer or prospect carries their logo beside yours on its first and last slides, read from their website, with your kit still the frame; it's for private decks you send them, and Cue checks that no other company's name is left in it.

Can I edit slides freely, like in a canvas?

No, by design. You ask for changes in plain words, or edit the text and the slide order yourself, and the layouts follow your brand kit. That's what keeps every deck on brand however many people and agents edit it.

Can we bring decks from PowerPoint or Google Slides?

Yes. Import a .pptx up to 20 MB and 60 slides (from PowerPoint, Keynote or Gamma), or pick a Google Slides deck through your Google connection. Cue redraws every slide in your brand kit as slides you can edit, bind to live data and present, and says what didn't carry over, like animations and video.

Can I export a deck?

Yes. Any deck downloads as an editable PowerPoint file, with real text, tables and charts, or as a PDF. You can also share a published snapshot as a link and see its views and time per slide.

Privacy and security

Where is my data?

Cue runs on Cloudflare, and its database is in Cloudflare's Eastern Europe region. Tokens for the apps you connect are encrypted (AES-GCM) before they're stored. The privacy notice lists everything Cue stores and every service it uses. If your company needs a data processing agreement, ask us.

What can Cue see in my Google account?

Signing in with Google shares your name, email address and picture. The Google Drive & Sheets connector is optional and reads only the files you pick in Google's picker (the drive.file permission), never the rest of your Drive. Cue uses Google data only for the features you use, under Google's Limited Use requirements.

Does Cue use cookies or trackers?

Cue's only cookies keep you signed in; none are for advertising or analytics. Visits to the website and the app are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't follow you across sites. Share-link views are counted without IP addresses or third-party trackers.

Who can see and change a deck?

Each member has a role: viewer, commenter, editor, admin or owner. Every edit is a version that records who made it, a person or an AI app acting for them, and the audit log records who did what and when.

Pricing

Is Cue free?

Yes, during early access: every workspace gets every feature, the Team plan's included, and there's no card to enter. Later, a Free plan holds up to 3 decks with presenting, follow links and share links, and Team is €15 per seat per month. Seats are for people who edit; viewers and commenters are free. See pricing.

What happens when early access ends?

Paid plans start once checkout opens. Cue has no card on file for anyone, so nothing is charged until a workspace owner picks a plan and pays for it, through Paddle.

Do the people I present to need an account?

No. Anyone with a follow link or a share link can open it without an account.
